Our Products Relieve Pressure Points

Below you will find a quick glance into how our anti-support surfaces work. Our products relieve pressure points found in traditional hospital/surgical bed surfaces by applying our Fluid Immersion Simulation software algorithms and precisely adjusting the density of the surface to accommodate the unique anatomical features of the patient.

The patient is suspended in a near neutrally buoyant state, minimizing or totally eliminating soft tissue deformation. Traditionally, this could only be accomplished in the center of an air-fluidized bed.


The Dolphin Pad

Prevalence data shows that pressure ulcers are acquired intraoperatively in an alarming 13%-17% of the surgical population. Vascular and cardiac procedures are especially risky with prevalence rates well beyond 20%. Up until now, there was very little the OR and skin care teams could do. When you take into consideration all of the factors that contribute to the development of a pressure ulcer during surgery: very sick patients with multiple co-morbidities, anesthetics that lowers a patients blood pressure and essentially shuts down perfusion, and a paralyzed patient on a non-compliant surface that does not redistribute pressure very well, it is no wonder this phenomenon has been termed the "Perfect Storm" as it relates to pressure ulcer development. The Dolphin Pad™ uses a microprocessor and sophisticated dynamic pressure waveform analysis software that is able to engage patients three-dimensionally and volumetrically providing proper symmetry and protection during long surgical procedures.



Current support surface technology is hard-pressed to address the low body weight of pediatric and neonatal patients. The microprocessor controlled Dolphin system can be equipped with pediatric and neonatal software packages for body weights as low as 150 grams for matching surfaces used for neonatal isolates and infant warmers as well as cribs.

Transportation Capabilities

All our systems contain internal battery backups which allow transport of a surface for up to eight (8) hours dependent upon the surface used.
